05.02.10 Studio leftovers

It’s been a while, and I actually have neglected to upload much of the work I did during my studio class. This is just a smattering of what I felt was the strongest work. I’ll be starting to post work from this quarter soon enough.

11.09.09 Adventures in mediocrity

Wasn’t all too thrilled with this round of large format shots. I’ve basically run out of time at this point, so when push came to shove, I just had to get the shot done. I wish there was more time to re-shoot, but…oh well, all I can hope for is something good enough.

07.24.09 The end

A rather anti-climatic set, but it is indeed the last one, so here’s the last of Hong Kong, and China. I’ll post my final set that I submitted as my portfolio next.

06.25.09 Hangzhou

One entry for Hangzhou. The least culturally vibrant of the places we visited in China. I’d associate it with the equivalent of the American upper middle class suburb, in the sense the architecture and environment reflected a concern with money and artificial beauty, rather than quirkiness and the embrace of organic culture. The temple area was rather pretty, but the city in general had that kind of vibe going for it.

06.25.09 Streets of Xian

Well, I’m finally back in the states, but I’m hardly even halfway done posting all of the images from the trip. Costly internet in Hong Kong prevented further updates, and it wasn’t until now I had the time / inclination to start posting. Although at least now I’m back on the desktop with Lightroom, and thus, better lookin’ exports over Picasa.

05.26.09 Almost there . . .

I have two days of classes left. Should be another bout of A’s. Then I’ll have three days until I’m on a 15+ hour flight to China. It seems to be taking too long to get here, but that’s always the case anyway.

I’ll be packing up the computer tonight, so it’ll just be the laptop. I’m going to try and get CS2 running on it, so hopefully it’ll be able to handle some lightweight processing. And hopefully I’ll actually be able to get some internets at the hotels I’ll be at. There are internet cafes abound and whatnot, but something about that just irks me . . . they’re cheap, but either way, if it doesn’t work out, oh well.

I am more than anything else just bored for the moment, since I’m done with finals at this point. Or rather, not so much bored, just ready to get out of here and be somewhere new. Since I wouldn’t mind still hangin’ with SCAD buds.

I’m actually supposed to be tutoring right now, but of course no one knows about this stuff. It’ll be more intensive next fall . . .

I can’t think of anything else to say, and none of the above was probably worth saying, just an attempt to pass time. Well then . . . until next time.

04.27.09 The abandoned neighborhood

There’s a development behind the SCAD equestrian center that never got past the front gates, so to speak. It’s a strange area, as if it weren’t for those front gates and paved roadways, and some other evidence of on-going development, it’d appear to be a nature and wildlife preserve. Minus any wildlife. The bugs however . . . I’m basically covered in red welts.
