Did yet another shoot at the McKinney spot, this time with Krystle. I was rather pleased with the shots I got. I wish I had a bit more time in Texas to flesh out some concepts though. Oh well…

Once I got the itch to take portraits again, I did some brief scouting of a spot I had used last summer – an undeveloped subdivision in McKinney. Wasn’t sure if it’d still be just as untouched as it had been, and luckily, it was. Shooting here as much as possible while I can, to say the least. Took some portraits of Hannah to start.

Brought out the red nylon to play…

Thinking of expanding this idea…

Stopped off the road on the way back…the new highway really struck me in contrast with the desolate landscape. Going to see about exploring this place more too. So many pictures, so little time…

Last of Rome

I’m playing a bit of catch up and posting the rest of the images from Rome. Most of it consists of more wanderings through the streets, although on day 6, I went to Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este.

Really liked this closeup…

Threw in some plexi for the catchlights, was just what the shot needed.

D700, Profoto light kit, and a mix between the 50 and 85.

Well, these are pretty old at this point, but I did at least want to get the collection of images up before life turns hectic once more with school. This is just the first half of images, done at an older home (somewhat Victorian). Model is Sam, the styling and dress itself is by Liz.

I was originally going to shoot a lot with my 28, but discovered it’s showing a defect and is defocusing a portion of the image. It’s relatively apparent in the above shot. Need to send it in for warranty repair.

Was using my SB600 for this set, and ended up using a few of the shots for my studio lighting class (this wasn’t one of ‘em, but I liked the flare effect).

Absolute favorite shot from the shoot. Hands down.

Attempted to use a bicycle to get an additional prop. I thought it turned out alright.

A little bit of everything actually, including my 20 1.8. All on the D700. Thanks to Scott as well for assisting!

Did a shoot with Lauren, more simple stuff, hopefully will start doing work with more art direction soon (may verge off into still life for a bit as well).

Above and below were taken with a Phase One P20 on a Mamiya RZ67 (110mm lens). The rest were all on the D700. The above is easily my favorite from the shoot.

Tried messing with gels over the strobes. Still need to work at it.

Taking a studio lighting class this quarter. Did a session with Sarah, so check it out below.

Kept things pretty simple for the most part. It’s been a while since working with lights…

Decided to change things up and throw in a hot light while using a slow shutter speed.

D700 + 85 1.4, using a Profoto strobe and softbox, camera right for the most part.

Alora and fireworks

Second half of a shoot I did with Alora.

I’m surprised, and glad, that this stand still exists (I remember having passed it 5 years prior but it had dropped out of my mind). Going to be shooting as much as possible in this spot (already did another one just this past Monday).

I had some yellow rope (thanks Aimee) and decided to make some doodles on the ground with it.
