05.07.09 Set for China . . .
Purchased a 70-300 VR *finally* so I now have all the lenses and equipment I’ll need/want for China. I probably am taking more with me than necessary, but at least after this trip, I’ll get an idea of what I’ll really need from here on out. The list…
- D700
- D200
- Nikkor 20-35 2.8
- Sigma 20 1.8
- Sigma 28 1.8
- Nikkor 50 1.4
- Nikkor 85 1.4
- Nikkor 70-300 VR
- SB600
- ND, CPL, IR filters
- ASUS Eee 9.1 inch laptop
- EPSON P4000
- 10 memory cards
- Bogen-Manfrotto 3021BPRO tripod w/322RC2 ballhead
All stuffed into a Kata 3n1-20. I’ll probably need an extra small bag. Fanny pack chic anyone?
Oh dear . . . yeah, I know, more than I need, could probably get away with just bringing the 700 with the 28, 50, and 70-300 . . . but it’s sort of like, I still want to bring all that b/c I almost need to justify having the gear, and still don’t know if there’ll be that situation where the isolation of the 85 is what I want, or the superwide of the 20 is what I want, or the extra versatility of the 20-35 beats out the extra speed of my other lenses.
So basically, for next time when I do a big trip, international especially, I’ll really know what I need to have.
Tomorrow I get all the dirty details on the trip . . .
