05.11.09 I-16 Roadtrip

Went down I-16 with Rockie this weekend. Spent the night in Atlanta before coming back down. Got some relatively interesting / good stuff. About 50 images in this post fyi . . .

I-16

Random abandoned gas station. We could overhear people back in the trees – just a bunch of folks on their porch, chatting and whatnot.

We basically picked random exits to get off at – and hope we got lucky. Like this giant, empty, barren field.

And we all know what time it is when there is a big empty field involved.

Stayed at a family friend’s house that night. They have a nice, big, immaculately manicured backyard.

Not too far from their place was this magnificent scene . . . it looks like it’s out in the middle of nowhere, when in fact it’s just across from a CVS, and right behind a strip mall area.

Decided to inspect on a place called Falls Church on the way back, where there was a state park. Turned out to be quite a pretty place with a few nifty water falls.

Turns out my ND filter casts a weird blue haze / overcast when flare creeps in. Oh well, can’t complain about $5 eBay filters.

Rockie likes to take pics.

Rather primordial in certain parts along the trail . . .

Big rock is big.

I wish that truck and trailer weren’t there.

And our last find. The typical wheat field. ’twas a beaut.

A lil’ contrasty on the face / hair. Will have to go back and fix that . . .

And a nice Romantic landscape to finish it off.

A mix of the SIggy 20 1.8, 28 1.8, and Nikkor 85 1.4.
